Presented here are photos from an acute left middle cerebral artery (MCA) occlusion case, to which the patient presented with aphasia and right-sided hemiparesis (top left: perfusion MRI; top right: digital subtraction angiography, DSA, of a right internal carotid artery, ICA, injection demonstrating occlusion within the right MCA).  Images following a successful mechanical thrombectomy with a stent retriever: bottom left, clot removed; bottom right: DSA right ICA inject demonstrating complete reperfusion of MCA.  The patient’s subsequent neurological exam is near baseline.
